About Inverter Geek
Hi, I’m James, the manager and editor of InverterGeek.com.
I currently work in the electrical and power equipment industry, with a strong focus on power conversion systems, electrical equipment, and solar systems, including complex solar system installations such as solar EV charging.
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve worked with various types of electrical and power systems, which has given me extensive experience reading technical datasheets, evaluating equipment specifications, and understanding how power equipment performs beyond marketing brochures.
InverterGeek was created to share that experience and provide clear, technical, and unbiased information specifically about solar inverters and power conversion equipment.
This website is not a general solar blog. It is a technical resource focused entirely on inverters, their specifications, performance, and real-world considerations.
Why This Website Exists
Finding clear, reliable, and technical information on inverters is harder than it should be.
Most websites either talk about solar panels in general, list specifications without explaining what they mean, or recommend products without proper technical analysis.
In reality, choosing an inverter often requires comparing efficiency curves, voltage ranges, cooling methods, protection features, and long-term reliability, not just looking at wattage and price.
Even experienced installers and engineers often spend hours reading datasheets before choosing an inverter.
InverterGeek was built to make that process easier and more transparent.
Tools and Features on This Site
To make inverter research easier, Inverter Geek includes:
An inverter comparison tool for side-by-side analysis
Detailed Inverter specification pages
