Renogy Inverter Reviews 2026

Understanding the Renogy P2 vs PUH Product Lines

Before choosing a wattage, you need to understand the design split that runs through the entire Renogy inverter lineup. Every model is either a P2 or a PUH. That distinction matters more to many buyers than wattage.

P2 models are standard inverters. They take DC and give you AC. No built-in charger, no automatic power source switching, and no app connectivity unless you add a separately purchased BT-2 Bluetooth dongle. They are simpler, more reliable in purely off-grid applications, and carry a lower idle draw. If you will never plug into a wall outlet or a campground pedestal, the P2 is the right foundation for your build.

PUH models are 3-in-1 units. They include a built-in Automatic Transfer Switch that routes shore power to your outlets when it is available and switches to battery-backed inverter output when shore power drops. They also include built-in Bluetooth for Renogy app monitoring. That combination makes them the right choice for any build that touches shore power at any point. The tradeoff is a higher idle draw because the ATS and Bluetooth module stay active at all times.
